About Vijit

Vijit is a New York-based business and venture capital lawyer. He is a hands-on advisor to foreign startups, entrepreneurs and investors — providing them a single point of contact for structuring, financing and managing their US operations.

He represents both startups and VCs, providing comprehensive legal counsel throughout the investment lifecycle.

Vijit has co-taught a NY and California accredited CLE course for attorneys on "Representing Early-Stage Startups" and regularly speaks at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi on US business practices for Indian entrepreneurs.

Before starting his New York practice, Vijit served as Legal Officer at SEBI (India's securities markets regulator), Senior Researcher at the UNDP and second chair to Mr. K.K. Venugopal (Former Attorney General of India) at the Supreme Court of India in several high-profile corporate disputes. This experience gives him unique insights into the Indian legal and regulatory landscape, where many of his international clients are based.

He is licensed to practice law in India and the State of New York.

It is not enough for your lawyers to know the law.

Entrepreneurs need to internalize some important legal concepts to make better decisions and avoid serious trouble.

If you are an attorney, you can enroll for 'Representing Early-Stage Startups', an NY and California accredited CLE co-taught by me, available at Thomson Reuters West or the New York City Bar Association.

You can also find my older CLE courses on 'Single Member LLCs — Piercing the Corporate Veil' and 'Working with Co-Counsel' at the New York City Bar Association.
